Your adventure begins at Lake Mburo National Park, where zebras, impalas, elands, and rare birds thrive. From there, venture to the misty forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—also known as Wakanda Land—where you will come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas. Finally, unwind at the stunning Lake Bunyonyi, famed for its breathtaking scenery, rich birdlife, and tranquil waters.
This once-in-a-lifetime safari starts and ends in either Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo & Evening Game Drive
Your safari begins with a morning pick-up by our professional guide from Entebbe or Kampala. You will embark on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s closest savannah park, home to one of the world’s largest antelope species—the impala.
En Route Highlights:
- Equator Stopover: A great opportunity for photos, refreshments, and learning about the geographical significance of the equator.
- Arrival at Lake Mburo: Check in at your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Evening Game Drive
As the sun begins to set, embark on a guided game drive to spot a variety of wildlife, including:

- Elands
- Impalas
- Topis
- Uganda Kobs
- Warthogs
- Waterbucks
- Diverse bird species
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning Boat Cruise & Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast, set out for a morning boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Witness aquatic life such as:

- Nile crocodiles
- The African fish eagle
- Guinea fowls and cranes
Following the cruise, enjoy an early lunch before embarking on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through breathtaking landscapes and lush forests.
Arrive in the evening, check into your lodge, have dinner, and relax in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience
Fuel up with a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will receive guidelines and be assigned a gorilla family to track.
Gorilla Trekking Experience
With an experienced ranger guide, venture into the dense forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can take anywhere between 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night. Along the way, expect to see:
- Baboons & monkeys
- Unique bird species
- Breathtaking flora and fauna
Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing their behaviors, taking photos, and enjoying an intimate moment with these magnificent creatures.
Afternoon Batwa Pygmy Encounter
In the afternoon, engage in an immersive cultural experience with the Batwa pygmies, the indigenous forest dwellers of Bwindi. Learn about their traditional hunting skills, music, dance, and way of life before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Island Exploration
After breakfast, embark on a 2-3 hour drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s deepest and most scenic lakes. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of rolling hills, lush forests, and vibrant farmlands.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch before engaging in exciting activities such as:
- Canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi to explore its 29 islands, each with unique history and cultural significance.
- Hiking and nature walks to enjoy spectacular landscapes.
- Swimming in the bilharzia-free waters.
- Bird watching for sightings of vibrant species.
- Zip-lining across the lake for an adrenaline rush.
Return to your lodge in the evening for a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Wake up to a refreshing breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Begin your 8-9 hour journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stopover for lunch at a preferred restaurant.
